I dagsläget är konstruktionen bara en miniatyr av det som ska produceras i framtiden. 2021 räknar företaget SeaTwirl AB ha fullskaliga vindkraft­verk, 340 meter höga och då cirka hälften över vatten­ytan, som ska ge en effekt på 10 mega­watt.
